Charity

Luciano is a strong believer in charity and helping others. His nickname “The Goodwill Tenor” well presents the passion and faith that he brings via his charitable work, especially through singing and the arts. Because he believes to have received so much in his life, Luciano poured himself into the work of the two foundations he founded: the Saint Pio Foundation, and The People of Hope.

THE SAINT PIO FOUNDATION

MISSION

The Saint Pio Foundation is a non-profit, charitable organization that promotes the knowledge of and devotion to Saint Pio of Pietrelcina, known also as Padre Pio, one of the most venerated contemporary saints of the Catholic Church.

VISION

The Saint Pio Foundation works with institutions and individuals that share the same vision to serve those in need of relief of suffering and that seek to alleviate the physical and emotional hunger of the underserved in a dignified and supportive manner. This includes providing spiritual, physical, and emotional nourishment.

In achieving its mission, the foundation focuses on three primary areas: education, hunger, and spirituality.

THE PEOPLE OF HOPE

The People of Home is a 501 (c) 3 not for profit organization founded by tenor Luciano Lamonarca, also referred to as The Goodwill Tenor due to his relentless support to numerous not for profit organizations and charitable missions throughout his artistic career.

He believes that the definition of goodwill people embraces all those who are determined and have the tools to inspire others to daily acts of kindness. From that universal striving to kindness, hope springs as a by-product, hope for a better world, a better future, a better humanity.

The People of Hope find inspiration, at their turn, in the likes of Saint Pio of Pietrelcina, Mother Teresa of Calcutta, The Dalai Lama, Mahatma Gandhi, and many others of those icons of civilization who lit the path along their journeys throughout millennia, cultures, ages.

In pragmatic terms, The People of Hope wishes to create a unique platform – an anchor of original and impactful charitable initiatives and community projects – supported by people of true talent and success, who wish to influence and bring hope in the lives of others while enriching their own sense of happiness and fulfillment. They are called to perform a goodwill act each and every day.

MODIFICA THE GOODWILL TENOR

Having performed in more than two hundred benefit events from 2008 to 2018, his commitment to making art with a purpose and his involvement in numerous charitable causes has earned Luciano Lamonarca the nickname “The Goodwill Tenor.” An example of his generosity was his first album “Mamma.” Part of the proceeds from its sales was donated to the City of Hope in Zambia, a missionary project by the Salesian Nuns that helped orphan girl victims of sexual abuse and domestic violence. In December 2010, Luciano organized and performed at Carnegie Hall in the December 2010 concert “United for Peace”, a tribute to the United Nations Department of Peacekeeping Operations and the United Nations Logistics Base located in Brindisi, Apulia. He went on to initiate, organize, and perform in the project “United for Abruzzo,” an artistic tour of Manhattan, Staten Island, and Pennsylvania with the goal of raising funds for the victims of the earthquake in Abruzzo in 2009. In the spring of 2011, he introduced two very important philanthropic projects. The first was “An Evening of Italian Opera Arias,” a gift of voice for cancer patients, families, and friends, in support of musculoskeletal cancer research arranged through the Wintergarden program at Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital at Columbia University Medical Center. The second was the April 2011 benefit concert “Luciano Lamonarca and Friends” at Victor Borge Hall at the Scandinavia House on behalf of the Wyckoff Heights Medical Center. The 2012 release of his second album “The Impossible Dream,” an outstanding compilation of Italian operatic arias and American pop-operatic hits, made in partnership with The New York Choral Society. Part of the proceeds from each downloaded song were donated to the Mini Maestros Program, which enables New York City public school students and their parents to attend New York Choral Society performances at Carnegie Hall at no cost. Luciano has consistently sought to amplify the effectiveness of his work through associating with large organizations whose objectives match his own. An example has been his advocacy of United Nations Academic Impact, an educational and artistic initiative of the United Nations. Through this program, he has been able to leverage his charitable efforts to support many artistic-philanthropic events that have benefitted orphans and the poor from various communities in the United States.
